International Elementary School (1st grade to graduation)
Hi5 Kids International is excited to expand our program to feature International Elementary School that will run from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Five days a week.
Our students will learn reading, writing, math, science, history, social studies, and the arts. All programs at Hi5 Kids International are delivered in English. We are truly an international school as our students will be taught from qualified teachers from America, Australia, Canada and England.
In addition to academics, great emphasis is placed on encouraging our students to be physically active. We will have a trained and experienced hip-hop teacher to coach our students in dance.
Our standards are set to schools from overseas. We are dedicated to helping our students achieve their full potential through fun activities. Another benefit for our students they will be given the opportunity to take Eiken English examinations. Our aim is to offer a quality education within a caring and nurturing environment to students from two year olds through elementary school.
Subjects
History, Culture, Passports & Cooking
Every month our students will learn in English about a new country and all of their customs. Your children will learn new vocabulary while making a new entry into their Hi5 passport. They will learn using crafts, games and activities about the countries flag, animals, sports, landmarks, and clothing. The children will prepare and cook a meal from each chosen country. They will learn valuable cooking skills.
In our new system we will learn the history of that country. We will learn how the country became to be and all the major things that they did to make the world a better place.
By the end of the month our students will know many aspects of that country while always expanding their vocabulary.
Science
Every month we will have a new science topic to cover in English. We will go over such things as biology, Earth science, chemistry, astronomy and more. During each month we will work on a science project that goes with that month’s science theme.
Math
We will use English to teach our students math skills they need in life. We will go over numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and early algebra. We will show them different and exciting ways to go over math problems.
We will use words problems like the one down below to teach them to think about math and English at the same time.
Yamato sells sushi for a living. On Monday his revenue was 250 dollars. On Tuesday, his revenue was 120 dollars. How much is Yamato's revenue so far?
We will use dramatic play reenactment of math problems to enhance the learning experience.
Art
Our students will make art projects that will take multiple classes while learning about famous artists and styles from around the world. They will make sculptures, paintings, drawings, and so much more. The program is designed for them to be creative while learning about art history.
Drama / Speaking
Public speaking is a key skill to have for a successful career in any field. We will practice giving speeches, debates and presentations. We will also read then act out plays and screenplays. Building the child’s confidence to one day perform in a school play and beyond.
Music / Dance
Learning through music and dance is fun and effective. There is scientific evidence that demonstrates how music can help second language learners acquire grammar and vocabulary.
Here at Hi 5 Kids International, we will have a trained and experienced hip-hop teacher to coach our students in dance. Every month we will teach the children a new song from a native English speaking country.
